At 3:00 PM on Sunday, December 10, 2017, all Mariettians were invited to a Community Presentation at the Marietta Pioneer Fire Company No. 1. The event was held to give everyone a “First Look” at the data collected over the course of 2017 through the Our Marietta (Marietta Placemaking Readiness Initiative) planning process. A crowd of approximately 45 residents and business owners gathered to hear brief presentations on the following three surveys:

At 1:00 PM on Sunday, June 25, all Mariettians…residents, business owners, young and young-at-heart…were invited to a Community Event at the Marietta Community House. The event, “Setting a Course As A Trail Town,” was a walking tour and workshop designed to help us re-discover our town. Following a brief introduction, participants walked the streets in groups (led by Our Marietta committee members) discussing various aspects of the Borough. After the walk, everyone reconvened at the Marietta Community House to share what we saw and experienced.

Participants shared their observations through a SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) Exercise. The result of the SWOT is shared here.

This workshop was an interesting opportunity to meet fellow citizens and to engage in some lively discussions about what makes Marietta special and how we can work together to build on our strengths.
